Last days at FCM

This month will be my last issue at Fashion Chicago Magazine. I finished my internship more than a month ago and I stood around to get more experience at the magazine. But life changes everything and now I must focus on schools since I don't have much time left. I appreciate all the knowledge and experience that I received from the magazine. So I will enjoy my last days and the last few articles I will write.

Behind the Scenes of the IMAGINE Fashion Show

Since I am graduating this fall I am taking some advanced level classes. One of them is Fashion Show Production. My school throws this huge fashion show every year. Its a big production with all the featured garments being designed and produced by our fashion design students. We arrived at 12pm and started setting up the display area and steaming garments for the fashion show. Our producer of the show envisioned this great design for our runway. It was innovative and creative and our show stood out from the rest of the schools. I helped dress and style the mannequin display, and dress the models for the big show. Below are some photos enjoy.

Tomorrow is the big day. The IADT annual fashion show IMAGINE will be on at 7pm tomorrow. The student's designs are very very creative, you can tell these students have used all their imagination. I am a production assistant at the show and will bring you behind the scenes photos and the low down on what happened before after and during the show.

Fashion Chicago Magazine Photo Shoot

I am an aspiring fashion writer, with the dream of having my own local fashion/lifestyle magazine. I work for Fashion Chicago Magazine; a great online fashion periodical. I am the associate editor so I get to do lots of great things for the magazine like write articles, style and organize photo shoots, and I write their blog. Check that out at http://www.fcmstyle.blogspot.com/.

This past weekend we had our monthly photo shoot. It was in sunny Evanston outside in a mansion by Lake Michigan. The house was beautiful and the fashion was great. Fashion designer James De Colon, brought over some hot dresses and a chic white crisp jacket and wide pants for the shoot. The color scheme was black and white in different renditions and techniques. That contrasted with the natural hues of the building. It made a great affect.
Here are some photos of the shoot, but I am working on putting them in a slide show for your ease.
