Christian Soriano!

The event was a book signing for Fierce Style at Saks. He was very nice he said it was a pleasure to meet me. I didn't buy his book but it is great for anyone who needs help with their style from a real designer. His collection is very expenisve but couture quality.

A friend of mine brought me to see this film September Issue. It was about Vogue and the behind-the-scenes production of their famous September Issue. Anna Wintour whom the public dubbs "Ice Women" is the editor in chief of Vogue. She is the final say on what goes in the magazine and does not really take anyone elses opinon on magaine content edits. She has a really hard job but designers have come to respect her and preview their collection to her. If she does not like something there is a chance they will change their collection.

Studio 808 Event

A few weeks ago I was contacted by this woman Erin Creaney about potentially interning at her company Studio 808. She found my resume on chicagofashionresource.com under the internship section. She invited me to her Fashion Press Event to help out with some of the logistics. I stuffed some goodie bags and helped with check in. It was a great opportunity to enter the Fashion PR and see how it all works.

It won't be a full blown internship but I will be able to gain some experience in the PR field. I want to be a fashion writer but it is always good to try your hand at few different things because you never know what you might be good at. Anyways, I am very excited to help out with writing press releases, helping out with her blog and more.

Last days at FCM

This month will be my last issue at Fashion Chicago Magazine. I finished my internship more than a month ago and I stood around to get more experience at the magazine. But life changes everything and now I must focus on schools since I don't have much time left. I appreciate all the knowledge and experience that I received from the magazine. So I will enjoy my last days and the last few articles I will write.

Behind the Scenes of the IMAGINE Fashion Show

Since I am graduating this fall I am taking some advanced level classes. One of them is Fashion Show Production. My school throws this huge fashion show every year. Its a big production with all the featured garments being designed and produced by our fashion design students. We arrived at 12pm and started setting up the display area and steaming garments for the fashion show. Our producer of the show envisioned this great design for our runway. It was innovative and creative and our show stood out from the rest of the schools. I helped dress and style the mannequin display, and dress the models for the big show. Below are some photos enjoy.
